BALANCE

To have complete balance, the body has to have the ability to perform each movement without falling or losing its base-of-support. In the meantime, balance-recovery strategies should also become a regular part of recovery and therapy.

Weight Distribution

Our unique ability to redistribute weight over supporting limbs when reaching, running, or (like in the case of Judo or Brazilian Jui-Jitsu) preventing an opponent from sweeping another opponent—is the true essence of BALANCE.

That fine line traversing between reaction time and predictive capability in order to decrease the risk of falls [or as they say in Jiu-Jitsu—becoming “unsweepable”] is called BALANCE; it is the perfectly calibrated equilibrium of the body.
